Xiaoxiang Ma is a PhD researcher at Queen’s University Belfast. His research examines Hong Kong horror cinema, with particular attention to how the genre reflects and participates in the construction, transformation, and gradual erosion of Hong Kong identity between the 1980s and the 2000s.
